After several years of consulting for the City of Nevada City, Mr. McAlister is currently employed part-time as City Engineer and City Surveyor. The City of Nevada City is a full service municipal City (with Police, Fire, Public Works, Water / Wastewater, Parks and Recreation services) and a Downtown Historic District listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Multiple projects completed since Mr. McAlister’s involvement include including bridge replacement, drainage, water distribution, water treatment, wastewater collection, wastewater treatment, paving, parking, swimming pool rehabilitation, parks improvements, creek restoration, trail development, sidewalks, ADA improvements, retaining walls and numerous residential and commercial site development projects. Services include contract management, procurement of funding for projects through Federal/State programming, public participation through workshops and City Council Meetings and construction oversight.
